Purpose: The 450nm~500nm bandpass filter and the 500nm~580nm bandpass filter for Slit lamp were designed by multi-layer coatings with TiO2 and SiO2.
Methods: The optical constants of TiO2 and SiO2 were obtained by envelope method and with these data the 450nm~500nm bandpass filter and the 500nm~580nm bandpass filter were designed, of which each bandpass filter was combined after designing longpass filter and shortpass filter.
Results: The 450nm~500nm bandpass filter was mixed with a shortpass filter(400nm~500nm) consisted of 30 alternating layer with the thickness of 2273nm and a longpass filter(450nm~700nm) consisted of 22 alternating layer with the thickness of 1149nm by a high index TiO2 layer and the low index SiO2 layer. The 500nm~580nm bandpass filter was mixed with a shortpass filter(400nm~580nm) consisted of 34 alternating layer with the thickness of 2284nm and a longpass
filter(500nm~700nm) consisted of 24 alternating layer with the thickness of 2016nm by TiO2 and SiO2 layer.
Conclusions: The 450nm~500nm bandpass filter and the 500nm~580nm bandpass filter were designed, which should increase the contrast during observing the Fluorescein pattern instead of cobalt blue filter and yellow filter used currently at the slit lamp.
